Untitled-1Depending on road repairs, the wine area of Anderson Valley begins in a turn on the highway at Yorkville Highlands. The two lane highway is easy enough to drive, but it takes an hour to get to Booneville and then it’s another 7 miles to Philo. Here a great place to stop and stay a while is our Anderson Valley Fest Digs –The Madrones. Owned by the energetic and hospitable Jim Roberts, I enjoyed a great night there.

guest-quarters-ivDown below are three tasting rooms for Bink, Drew and Lula Wineries. Hit those in am and interviewed two of the three tasting rooms. You understand this visit was in middle of harvest, so I was lucky to see the people I did get to meet. Jim Roberts and Janice MacDonald, Executive Director of the Anderson Valley Vintners Association, aided in this project and did great, for which I am really grateful, with Navarro and Toulouse will appear in From the Grapevine column in the near future.

Pictures of spacious room and front of the Madrone are featured. Prices: range from $190 to $210 depending on season and major events.
